Position Overview
- Role: HGV Technician
- Joining Bonus: £1,500
Salary & Benefits
- Pay Rate: £20.59/hour + Shift Allowance + £10.00/week Tool Allowance
- Hours:
- Earlies: 6:00 – 15:30 (Monday to Friday)
- Lates (Mon-Fri): 06:00–15:00 / 07:00–16:00
- Overtime & Call-Out Available
About the Role
Have you seen our “Big Red Trucks”? With over 100 years of history, Biffa’s iconic red vehicles keep the nation moving. This role involves maintaining engineering safety, health, and compliance with legislation and DVSA/DSA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair and maintenance of HGVs and waste-handling equipment (PCs & Specialist assets including scrolls to 44t pull)
- Scheduled preventative maintenance for Health & Safety compliance and Biffa’s operator licence

Requirements
- Skilled or semi-skilled technician experience
- Minimum: Full car/van licence current
- Desirable: Full/Part HGV licence | IRTEC Qualification | Level 3/Apprentice Qualification
- Full-licensed L3 HGV/PSV apprentices (City & Guilds/NVQ) preferred
