Key Details
• Pay Rate: £20.59/hour + shift allowance + £10.00 per week tool allowance • Joining Bonus: £1,500 • Shift Patterns:
- Earlies: 06:00 – 15:30
- Lates (Mon–Fri): 06:00 – 15:00 / 07:00 – 16:00
- Overtime & Call-Out Available • Contract: Monday to Friday
About the Role
At Biffa, we’re redefining how people think about waste management. Our iconic "Big Red Trucks" serve the UK, and we’re looking for skilled HGV Technicians to keep our fleet running smoothly—from small vans to 44-tonne articulated vehicles.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Maintenance and repairs of vehicles and waste-handling equipment to meet health & safety legislation and DVSA requirements.
- Scheduled preventative service & maintenance inspections to ensure compliance with Biffa’s operator’s licence.
- Opportunities to learn, grow, and develop your technical skills across a diverse fleet.

Requirements
Applicants must have: ✔ Fully completed Level 3 HGV/PSV Apprenticeship (e.g., City & Guilds/NVQ qualification). ✔ Technician-level expertise. ✔ Minimum valid car/van driving licence (HGV licence a plus). ✔ IRTEC qualification (desirable).
