HGV Technician – Amersham
Salary: Up to £21.93 per hour (dependent on experience) + 50p bonus per hour for a valid HGV Licence
Location: Amersham
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday Overtime: Available as and when required, including weekends and Bank Holidays. Pay multiplied by:
- Weekdays (x 1.5)
- Saturday (x 1.5)
- Sundays & Bank Holidays (x 2.0)

Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain the Veolia fleet, third-party vehicles, and plant in line with manufacturer and industry standards
- Diagnose vehicle faults using hydraulic, electric, and pneumatic equipment
- Carry out general workshops tasks as directed by management
- Ensure strict Health & Safety compliance, including managing your own and others’ safety
- Complete all necessary paperwork, timesheets, and HGV MOT-related tasks
- Conduct regular MOT inspections and roadside repairs as required

Requirements
Essential
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in HGV Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Problem-solving under pressure
- HGV Licence (vocational entitlement attracts a £0.50/h bonus)
- Ability to flex across a wide range of tasks
Desirable
- IRTEC Licence (available training supported)
- Experience with waste/RCV or similar curbside vehicles
- Electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic engineering knowledge
- Welding or fabrication skills
- Counterbalance forklift licence
