HGV Technician – Joining Bonus of £1,500
Location: Bodmin Depot, Company: Biffa Waste

Shift & Role Overview
Top-tier HGV Technician with responsibility for maintaining and repairing a fleet of vehicles, from light commercial vans to 44t articulated assets.
- Shift requirements: Monday to Friday, 45-hour weeks
- Working hours: 06:00–15:30 or 12:30–22:00
- Overtime & call-outs available

Responsibilities
The Key HGV Technician role requires:
- Repairing and maintaining vehicles and waste-handling equipment in line with DVSA standards.
- Conducting scheduled preventative servicing to meet Biffa’s operator-licence commitments.
- Preparing technical reports for off-site repairs and second-hand vendor sales.
- Developing technical skills to uphold strict safety and standards—from light commercial vehicles to heavy 44t articulated rigs.
Experience & Qualifications
Perfect fit for technical professionals with experience as:
- HGV Mechanic | LGV / HGV Technician | Park & Service Vehicle (PSV) Mechanic
Ideal candidates have: ✅ A Level 3 HGV/PSV apprenticeship, City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 ✅ Must have a car/van driving licence (HGV licence greatly desirable) ✅ Experience in IRTeC a bonus ✅ Ability to work through industrial PPE and real conditions.
