Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, Days
- WK1: 06:00–14:30
- WK2: 10:00–18:30
- WK3: 10:00–18:30 + Saturday: 06:00–14:30
About the Role
Company: Schenk UK
Schenk UK is an innovative national tanker haulage business, and we are looking for an HGV Technician to join our team based in Scunthorpe.
You’ll play a fundamental part in maintaining high standards across our Tanker and HGV fleet through:
- Carrying out workshop maintenance including:
- Servicing
- Inspections
- Defect repairs
- MOT preparations
- Breakdowns
This opportunity is ideal if you are a qualified Level 3 Vehicle Technician, with experience in servicing and repairing operational tankers, have a comprehensive understanding of MOT standards and legal compliance, and demonstrate accuracy in your work.

Responsibilities
- Maintain servicing, repairs, and diagnostics across the Tanker and HGV fleet
- Conduct thorough inspections and pre-mission checks
- Perform MOT test preparations and compliance procedures
- Troubleshoot and rectify defects with high attention to detail
- Ensure vehicles meet legal and safety standards
- Work collaboratively within a team environment
- Meet tight deadlines to support operational efficiency
Skills and Competencies
- Strong legislation knowledge on vehicle roadworthiness and MOT standards, with active compliance management
- A strong commitment to Health and Safety in the workplace
- Demonstrates determination and tenacity to achieve quality results
- Driven by a passion for high-quality workmanship
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, customer-, and cost-focused environment
- Self-motivated, highly organised, and capable of managing workload effectively

Requirements
- Qualified as a Level 3 Vehicle Technician
- Extensive HGV and trailer maintenance and repair experience
- Tanker experience (preferred but not essential)
- LGV License (preferred but not essential)
- ADR License (preferred but not essential)

Salary: £19.31 per hour

- Valid Right to Work documentation
