HGV Technician
Location: Bristol
Salary: £43,500 – £47,732 per annum (depending on experience) + £2,500 retention bonus (upon successful completion of probation)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, alternating early and late shifts
The Opportunity
A leading environmental and fleet services organisation is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their busy workshop operation in Bristol.

The Role
The successful candidate will provide efficient and effective vehicle maintenance support, ensuring the fleet remains compliant, safe, and operational at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain fleet compliance records and workshop documentation
- Conduct quality control inspections
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
- Ensure vehicles comply with all statutory and legal requirements
- Troubleshoot vehicle breakdowns and execute repairs
- Perform planned preventative maintenance activities
- Support workshop cost control initiatives
- Assess service and parts requirements
- Maintain high standards of vehicle presentation
- Preserve workshop facility safety and security

Requirements
- A qualification in vehicle maintenance, such as a City & Guilds Level 2, IRTEC certification, manufacturer accreditation, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in commercial vehicle repair and maintenance
- Strong familiarity with job cards and workshop systems
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to undertake additional technical training when required
- Strong communication and organisational skills
