HGV Technician Shift Supervisor – Coventry
Location: Coventry Salary: Up to £24/hour – competitive salary + overtime Job Type: Permanent, Part Time

- Supervising a team of HGV Technicians, ensuring top-quality work and productivity
- Organising workloads, scheduling jobs, and maintaining smooth workshop operations
- Maximising shift performance through problem-solving, coaching, and team development
- Performing hands-on diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on HGVs and LCVs
- Ensuring compliance with DVSA, Health & Safety, and VOSA regulations
- Mentoring and supporting team members to enhance skills and performance
- Providing progress updates and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Conducting routine maintenance, safety checks, and MOT preparation
- Signing off My Check documents and carrying out quality control on repairs
- Maintaining workshop housekeeping and adherence to H&S standards
- Attending required training courses to stay updated
Requirements
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- Qualified HGV Technician (City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an HGV workshop
- Strong knowledge of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance for HGVs and LCVs
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Nice to Have
- Full HGV Licence (not essential)
- Experience with Renault Trucks and Isuzu Trucks products
- Previous experience in a Renault Trucks and Isuzu Trucks dealership
