HGV Technician – On-site Workshop (Immingham)

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and engaging HGV Technician to join our on-site workshop at Immingham. Your role will include:
- Maintaining, repairing, and modifying our fleet of vehicles and trailers
- Providing technical support, managing tasks from fault analysis to completion
- Ensuring vehicles are in safe, working order through high-standard repairs and diagnostics
This position requires a meticulous, initiative-driven professional with a deep understanding of vehicles, trailers, workshop equipment, and strict Health & Safety compliance. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage thorough documentation are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on company vehicles and trailers
- Ensure all vehicles adhere to current Health & Safety legislation and company policies
- Conduct engineering diagnostics and in-depth troubleshooting
- Work both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team
- Safely operate relevant equipment, machines, and tools
- Complete all associated documentation accurately and on time

About You – Requirements
We are looking for candidates with:
✅ Education:
- City & Guilds qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) ✅ Experience:
- Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic in a similar role ✅ Licences/Certifications:
- Preferable: HGV C+E licence (Class 1) and current ADR (essential for labour mobility but not mandatory) ✅ Technical & Problem-Solving Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of vehicles, trailers, workshop plant, and equipment
- Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues ✅ Time Management & Work Style:
- Multitasking ability, meeting deadlines under pressure
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills ✅ Soft Skills:
- Independent working + teamwork balance
- Clear communication skills

Additional Requirements for Consideration
- Eligible to live and work in the UK
- Hold a valid UK driving licence (for site operations/entry-level mandatory travel)
