HGV Technician

About the Company

For more than 50 years, L&R Roadlines has helped shape the UK's road network. Founded in Liverpool in 1972, we've grown into one of the country's leading road surface contractors, delivering expert road marking, high-friction surfacing, road stud installation, pothole repair, and specialist surfacing services nationwide. Our reputation is built on quality, innovation, and, above all, the expertise and dedication of our people.

About the Role

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing our specialist fleet of road marking vehicles and associated equipment. Your work will play a vital role in keeping our fleet safe, compliant, and operating at peak performance, ensuring projects across the UK stay on track.

This is primarily a workshop-based role, with occasional travel to our satellite depots in Liverpool and Sandbach, as well as breakdown and repair call-outs when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair HGVs, trailers, and specialist road marking equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
  • Carry out routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and safety checks.
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and ensure full DVSA compliance.
  • Attend occasional roadside breakdowns and emergency repair call-outs.
  • Travel to satellite depots to support fleet maintenance when required.
  • Complete workshop documentation, inspection reports, and defect records accurately.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, housekeeping, and workmanship.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
