About the Role

An exciting opportunity to join the team at Scania Thirsk, positioned at the core of all workshop activities. You’ll be organised, people-led, and detail-oriented, with proven workshop expertise and a commitment to fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Your role will centre on managing a team of skilled technicians, driving efficiency, and ensuring adherence to stringent Health and Safety protocols. You’ll be passionate about the seamless operation of the workshop, proactively engaging with staff and customers alike to deliver outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the workshop team, balancing productivity, efficiency, and smooth workflows.
  • Act as the primary support contact for technicians and workshop staff, resolving issues and addressing their needs.
  • Offer technical expertise to your team, ensuring maintainable standards, while guiding customers when necessary.
  • Uphold meticulous quality control for all authorised work, with particular attention to preventing warranty rejections through precise job card documentation.
  • Mentor apprentices to develop their skills, cultivating the future talent for the workshop.

Working Arrangement

Rotating shift pattern:

  • Week 1: Mon–Thurs: 06:00 – 14:30, Fri: 06:00 – 13:30
  • Week 2: Mon–Thurs: 13:30 – 22:00, Fri: 12:30 – 20:00
  • 1 in 2 Saturdays: 07:00 – 15:00 (paid overtime)
