We are now recruiting for a HGV Technician to join our team on a full-time and permanent basis.
Job Description
- Shift: Monday-Friday 08:00am-16:00pm
- Salary: £38,376 per annum
As an HGV Technician with CAM, you’ll play a key part in keeping some of the UK’s biggest brands on the road, responsible for ensuring the most efficient and highest possible standard of customer service procedures and workmanship.
- Working as part of the team you will be responsible for the completion of maintenance tasks controlled and issued through the Service Control Team.
- You will be responsible for servicing and repairs to all different types and makes of HGV vehicles and Trailers through standard maintenance platforms to DVSA Ministry Standard to MOT level.
- Complete full diagnosis of faults.
- Complete documentation that relates to all servicing and repairs where required and by following Manufacturers current guidelines and rules for this required servicing, repairs and rectifications that are included in vehicles Service Contracts.
Responsibilities:
- Provide outstanding customer service through fully competent HGV and Trailer vehicle Maintenance.
- Must be able to work independently to complete requested tasks and in a timely manner.
- Ensure that you validate that parts have been correctly ordered and are required to complete servicing or rectification work and have been fully authorised by the customer through the in-place Service Department Processes.
- Must fully and correctly complete job cards and documentation. Inc. All write ups are fully legible and are complete and fully cover all maintenance tasks have been completed and completed within the clock time allocated.
- Ensure that accurate personnel records are held in relation to the systems that we use and keep up to date with the latest manufacturer processes required to complete all servicing or repairs.
- Must be available for any required training and be available to complete this training away from site where transport and accommodation will be provided by CAM where required.
- Must be a good timekeeper and ensure that all start and finish times are always adhered to.
- Must ensure all lateness and sickness is reported to the Service Controller prior to the start of any shift times.
- Support the management team in ensuring that all on-site company standards are adhered to as well as Industry & Legal Health, Safety & Environmental standards always and without exception.
- Understanding of all Company Safe Systems of Work and adherence to them.
- Provide personally owned tools to complete all tasks required and replace these tools personally when worn out, broken or damaged (CAM will provide all required calibration/s to personal tools where needed, to cover the company and Technician for HSE and legal documentation and/or where it is a requirement).
- Must support site with any other administrative duties, where possible, and capable, on the request of Service Control.
- Where possible and competent support within the Service Department with other job roles during holiday and/or sickness cover to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
- Support other Team members where assistance is required or where/when requested.
- Intermediate IT Skills, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and with Manufacturers Diagnostic equipment and systems that support alongside.

Qualifications

- Experience within the same or similar working environment and/or HGV Workshop.
- The ability to work well as part of a team but also have the initiative and confidence to take ownership of any areas of workload required.
- To be organised, methodical, and can manage an agile & varied workload.
- Must have a minimum Level 3 Qualification in HGV Vehicle Maintenance.
- Full UK Drivers’ licence advantageous.
