HGV Technician – Gatwick

Shift Pattern Available

  • Rotating 12-Hour Permanent Late Shift

    • Week 1: Monday – Thursday
    • Week 2: Tuesday – Friday
    • 46-hour workweek
  • Early / Late Shift

    • Week 1: 06:00 – 15:00
    • Week 2: 14:00 – 23:00

  • Hourly rate: £20.09 – £26.95 (dependent on shift, experience & location)

Responsibilities

  • Prime Task: Conduct comprehensive servicing, diagnostics, maintenance & repairs on Scania HGV vehicles
  • Perform preventative maintenance routines & identify operational issues via advanced diagnostic tools
  • Collaborate within team environments to ensure efficient workshop workflow
  • Assist in customer-facing services, providing clarity & confidence on vehicle performance
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols, maintaining industry/security compliance
  • Support shopfloor health & safety measures for a safe working environment

Note: Open-earned qualifications will be considered alongside candidates from related sectors such as: HGV/LCV, Cars/Agricultural Equipment, Plant Machinery & Military Vehicles.


Requirements

  • Proven experience in vehicle servicing & repairs (preferably within HGV sector or equivalent fields)
  • Understanding of basic mechanical functionality, fluid systems, braking/electrical diagnostics and structure of vehicles
  • Strong working knowledge of using scans/diagnostics tools
  • Demonstrable handiwork & problem-solving skills in technical environments (diagnostic thinking mandatory)
  • Willingness to develop/maintain skills via on-site training & mentorship initiatives
  • Valid driving license is advantageous (non-mandatory)
