HGV Technician
HGV Technician – Joining Bonus of £1,500!
Location: Biffa Waste – Rutland Depot
Salary & Perks
- Pay: £20.59/hour + Shift Allowance + £10.00/week Tool Allowance
- Joiners Bonus: £1,500
Shift Patterns
- Earlies: 06:00 – 15:30
- Lates (Mon–Fri): 06:00–15:00 / 07:00–16:00
- Overtime & Call Out Available
- Workweek: Monday to Friday
About the Role

We're revolutionising waste management—and we need a skilled HGV Technician to help. You’ll be responsible for:
- Maintenance & repairs of HGV vehicles (from light commercial vans to 44t articulated specialist assets)
- Scheduled servicing, inspections & fleet upkeep to comply with health & safety and DVSA requirements
- Driver safety overlap—as limitations lift across the industry

We’re Looking For…
A skilled or semi-skilled technician with experience in these roles (or eagerness to grow):
- PSV Mechanic
- Heavy Goods Technician
- Lorry Mechanic
- LGV Technician / Mechanic
- HGV Technician / Mechanic
Career development is encouraged—let us upskill you.
Requirements
✔ Fully qualified (one of the following preferred):
- Level 3 HGV / PSV apprenticeship
- City & Guilds NVQ
- Investors in People (iP) or Irtec qualification
❌ A minimum of a car/van driving licence.
🔹 HGV licence or IRTEC qualification a plus.
