The Role
Summary
This is a full-time, on-site role, initially based at the Wolverhampton HQ for training. After qualifying, the position will become nationwide.
You’ll install, configure, and test HGV vehicle safety systems, including:
- Braking-related electronic systems
- Cameras
- Sensors
- Associated wiring looms

The role requires meticulous work using technical diagrams and laptop-based software, ensuring compliance with safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and relevant regulations.
You’ll progress through a structured training programme, including:
- VCA audits (Vehicle Certification Agency)
- Staged factory courses at global brake manufacturers’ training schools
Key Responsibilities
- Follow strict procedural guidelines for technical installation, configuration, and testing of safety systems.
- Use software tools and diagnostic equipment on HGVs and trailers.
- Ensure all work meets industry safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in training customers or colleagues on system installation, safe usage, and basic troubleshooting.
- Organise tasks, manage timesheets, and meet project deadlines.
- Comfortably work in yard and workshop environments around heavy vehicles.
- Travel locally to customer sites as required.

Requirements
Technical & Skill-Based
- Strong technical skills in:
- Electrical wiring
- Heavy goods vehicle (HGV) electrical/electronic systems
- Experience in customer service, with clear, professional communication skills.
- Ability to deliver or support training on systems, safe use, and basic troubleshooting.
- Project management skills, including:
- Task organisation
- Time management
- Deadline adherence
- A disciplined, safety-conscious mindset, preferably from structured environments such as the Army or technical fields.
- Relevant qualifications preferred:
- Automotive emissions or HGV maintenance apprenticeship/vocational training
- Auto electrics engineering discipline
Location & Mobility
- On-site role: must work at ufacturer testing facilities, yard, and customer sites.
- UK driving licence (full valid licence preferred).
- Willingness to travel locally to customer installations.
