Role: HGV Operatives (Bucket 1 – Sewer Network Reactives)
Location: Kendal, covering the South Lakes
Hours: 42.5 hours per week (7-week rota-based shifts)
Base Pay: £34,269–£38,542 annually (based on experience)
Potential Earnings (on-job): Between £35,000–£55,000 annually, including overtime
Overtime Pay: Time-and-a-half on weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays
About the Role
Join United Utilities and Sapphire Utility Solutions as part of the Bucket 1 reactive contract across the North West. You’ll work alongside a United Utilities Customer Support Technician (CST) in a dynamic, shift-based environment tackling sewer problems—anytime, anywhere.
Daily Responsibilities
- Handle all levels of high-pressure water jetting—clearing blockages and maintaining drains/sewers.
- Conduct CCTV inspections to assess pipe and sewer conditions.
- Collaborate with CSTs to align with United Utilities’ sewer investigations and communicate ongoing plans to customers.
- Diagnose drainage system issues (blockages, leaks, damage) and implement fixes.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance to ensure jetting tools remain operational.
- Use a tablet/laptop for data entry and timing-related tasks (e.g., timescales for repairs).
- Adhere to broader company safety guidelines, reporting hazards as required.

Operational Structure
- Shifts:
- Front shift: 8am – 6pm
- Back shift: 12pm – 10pm
- Ongoing coverage: Includes weekends and bank holidays.
