Job Description
Location: Brett Martin Ltd, 24 Roughfort Road
Join Our Team as an HGV Class 2 Driver
Brett Martin is a well-established global leader in the manufacture of innovative plastic and building products. As part of our continued growth and investment, we are looking for a dedicated HGV Class 2 Driver to join our dynamic team.
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 8:15am – 5:15pm
- Friday: 8:15am – 2:45pm

About The Role
Main purpose: Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a Class 2 commercial vehicle and transporting goods. HGV2 drivers play a crucial role in the logistics and transportation industry by ensuring timely and secure delivery of goods to their designated destinations.
Main tasks and duties:
- Operate and drive HGV2 vehicles in compliance with traffic laws, regulations, and company policies;
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after each trip, reporting any defects or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel;
- Adhere to safety protocols, including securing loads properly, maintaining safe following distances, and operating within speed limits.
- Load and unload goods onto the vehicle, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure packaging to prevent damage during transit;
- Plan and follow designated routes to ensure timely deliveries while considering traffic conditions and road closures;
- Ensure accurate completion of delivery documentation, including manifests, receipts, and proof of delivery (POD) records.
- Interact professionally with customers and recipients during delivery and pickup, maintaining a positive image for the company;
- Assist with unloading goods at delivery points when required, providing a high level of customer service and addressing any concerns.
- Keep the vehicle clean, well-maintained, and perform regular checks on fluid levels, tire pressure, and general vehicle condition;
- Comply with regulations regarding driver working hours, breaks, and rest periods to ensure safety and legal compliance;
- Stay updated on relevant regulations, road laws, and industry standards to maintain a high level of competence and professionalism.

Required Criteria
- A clean HGV 2 License
- Full Driver CPC
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Minimum of 1 years HGV driving experience
