Hides Operative
Hides Operatives – Production Assistant
We require Hides Operatives to assist with production. You will be responsible for ensuring hides and skins are trimmed, sorted, graded, and preserved for further processing.
About the Role
The role involves supporting the trim, sort, grade, and preservation of cattle hides and sheep skins. This includes various semi-skilled and non-skilled tasks such as:
- Chilling and salting hides and skins
- Trimming and weighing
- Loading lorries/dolavs/boxes for despatch
Employees must uphold a strict ‘clean-as-you-go’ policy to ensure the factory remains clean and tidy during production.

Responsibilities
- Trim, sort, grade, and preserve hides and skins for processing
- Perform semi-skilled and non-skilled tasks related to hide and skin preservation
- Undertake loading duties for lorries/dolavs/boxes
- Maintain cleanliness throughout production shifts
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
- High standards of customer service
- Flexible and willing to work additional hours as required
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial
