High-Accuracy GNSS Algorithms Engineer
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a High-Accuracy GNSS Algorithms Engineer based in United Kingdom.
This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of satellite navigation technology and develop algorithms that improve positioning accuracy worldwide.
You will contribute to advanced GNSS correction systems, solving complex technical challenges across positioning, atmospheric modeling, and real-time data processing.
The position combines deep engineering expertise with technical leadership, allowing you to influence architecture, product direction, and engineering standards.
You will own the full lifecycle of critical features, from initial problem definition and prototyping through implementation, validation, and deployment.

Accountabilities
As a High-Accuracy GNSS Algorithms Engineer, you will lead the design and development of advanced positioning algorithms while contributing technical direction across engineering initiatives. You will transform complex navigation challenges into reliable, scalable solutions and help drive engineering excellence across the product ecosystem.
- Design, implement, test, and document new features for advanced GNSS correction engines, focusing on user positioning algorithms such as PPP and RTK, orbit and clock estimation, and atmospheric modeling.
- Provide technical leadership on complex engineering projects involving correction generation, atmospheric models, and navigation message systems.
- Translate customer and market challenges into clear technical strategies, solutions, and execution plans.
- Drive high-quality software engineering practices through architecture reviews, code reviews, testing standards, and technical guidance.
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies and methodologies in GNSS positioning while balancing innovation with operational reliability.
- Identify and address technical debt while designing scalable systems that support future product development.
- Collaborate with engineering leads, product managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure technical alignment throughout development cycles.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to the growth of the broader engineering organization.

Requirements
The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with deep expertise in GNSS technologies, strong algorithm development capabilities, and a track record of delivering complex systems into production. You should be comfortable combining technical leadership with hands-on engineering work.
- Strong background in GNSS positioning algorithms, including experience with PPP, RTK, or SSR-based correction systems.
- Deep understanding of GNSS signal behavior and atmospheric effects, including ionospheric and tropospheric modeling and mitigation techniques.
- Proven experience providing technical leadership on large-scale engineering projects.
- Strong programming skills in modern C++, with the ability to develop clean, efficient, and well-tested software.
- Experience collaborating across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams in an iterative development environment.
- Familiarity with modern software engineering practices, including version control, continuous integration, code reviews, and automated testing.
- Experience with estimation techniques such as Kalman filtering, least-squares estimation, multi-kernel approaches, or Gaussian processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of scientific computing, signal processing, and algorithm prototyping.
- Strong Python skills for scientific analysis and development workflows.
- Experience designing software architectures at service or system level.
- Familiarity with cloud-based GNSS correction services and operational requirements.
- Contributions to open-source projects or thought leadership within GNSS, geospatial, or related technical communities are advantageous.
- Curious, self-driven mindset with a passion for exploring new technologies and solving challenging technical problems.
