Role Overview
The post holder will work as part of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health (CYPMH) Service, supporting the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care to children, young people, and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high intensity interventions as recommended by NICE, initially Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
- Participate in a duty rota system taking the lead on the triage process and being point of contact for the team and referrers.
- Promote at all times a positive image of people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities.
Team and Service Context
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). As part of the team you will take a leadership role in the delivery of high quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of children and young people, their families and carers. Working within a systemic and holistic framework you will undertake needs led, evidence based, highly skilled assessments and therapeutic interventions to children and young people, their families and carers, who present to the service. These assessments will also include young people needing support due to deliberate self-harm.

Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for a trained CBT and EMDR therapist. They will provide high intensity interventions as recommended by NICE, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and EMDR. To promote at all times a positive image of people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities.
Service Transformation
The CAMHS services within LCFT are undergoing a transformation programme to implement the THRIVE model as a response to the Five Year Forward View. To meet this forward thinking view we are specifically looking for practitioners with a modern mind-set and an enthusiasm for the new model.
Requirements
- A means of transport is essential and applicants must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
