The Role
The HV Project Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle delivery of high-voltage substation projects (AIS and GIS), from pre-construction and design coordination through installation, commissioning, and energisation.
This is a site-based role in Norfolk, leading delivery on a major HV project with full accountability for programme, commercial performance, technical compliance, and client interface.
You will lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
Full ownership of HV substation project delivery from contract award through to energisation and handover Develop and manage project programmes, execution plans, and resource strategies Drive coordination across design, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams Act as primary point of contact for client, Owner’s Engineer, and utility stakeholders Chair progress, technical, and coordination meetings Manage RFIs, design queries, and technical submittals Maintain commercial control including budget management, forecasting, and cost tracking Manage variations, claims, and change control processes Support procurement of HV primary plant and specialist subcontract packages Provide technical oversight across HV systems including primary plant, protection, control, and earthing Ensure compliance with IEC, EN, IEEE and UK utility standards Oversee FAT, SAT, commissioning, and energisation activities Lead site teams to ensure safe, compliant installation of HV equipment Drive QA/QC processes and ensure ITPs are delivered and closed out Ensure projects are fully prepared for energisation and structured handover Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies Lead and develop project teams, fostering a strong safety and performance culture

Requirements
Key Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience Minimum 8+ years’ experience delivering HV substation projects (AIS and/or GIS) Proven experience managing projects through commissioning and energisation Strong commercial awareness and budget management capability Experience interfacing directly with utilities and Owner’s Engineers Strong understanding of HV systems including protection and control Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams Willingness to be site-based in Norfolk
