Higher Education Senior Account Manager, UK Education

Description

Would you like to be part of a team focused on increasing adoption of Amazon Web Services in Higher Education? Do you have the business savvy and the technical background necessary to help establish Amazon as a key technology platform provider? As Account Manager in Higher Education, you will have the exciting opportunity to help promote the growth and shape the future of an emerging technology. Your responsibility will be to increase the market penetration of AWS in the higher education education accounts. The ideal candidate will possess both a business and technical background that enables them to engage an account at Vice-chancellor and CXO level, as well as with software developers and IT architects. He/she should also be a self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute against a territory coverage plan.

Roles & Responsibilities

Promote AWS services in a defined territory or industry vertical. Develop and execute against a comprehensive account/territory plan. Create & articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services. Facilitate customer adoption. Maintain a robust projects pipeline. Work with partners to extend reach & promote adoption. Contribute to positive customer experience

Basic Qualifications

Experience building strategic relationships with stakeholders, including communicating and collaborating across teams and functions Experience with pipeline management skills to include utilization of Salesforce or other CRM tools 3–5 years of experience in account management, sales, or business development within the Higher Education sector Demonstrated experience working with universities, colleges, or further education institutions Track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles typical of HE procurement Ability to navigate long, consensus-driven procurement cycles with multiple stakeholders Experience developing account plans aligned to institutional strategies (e.g., Teaching Excellence, Research Excellence Framework) Ability to articulate technology value propositions in the context of academic outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of the Higher Education landscape, including funding models, research priorities, and digital transformation drivers Familiarity with institutional decision-making structures (e.g., Vice-Chancellors, Provosts, CIOs, Deans, Procurement) Awareness of sector challenges such as student experience, research computing, hybrid learning, and operational efficiency
