Join Our Client as a Regulatory Transformation Team Leader (Higher Executive Officer)

Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: 31/03/2027

Rate of Pay: £17.91 per hour - Weekly Pay

Shifts: General Office Hours / Hybrid working

Our client, a respected government body committed to protecting and enhancing the UK's marine environment, is seeking a dedicated Regulatory Transformation Team Leader to join their team in Newcastle. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to sustainable marine management and support the UK's economic growth.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading a team responsible for assessing impacts of EU and UK fisheries control legislation changes
  • Managing team performance to meet objectives
  • Reviewing legislation and providing expert advice to support operational decisions
  • Developing guidance for internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Supporting regulatory transformation projects through data analysis and operational insights
  • Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to evaluate proposed legislative changes

What You'll Bring

  • Proven leadership or management experience, with the ability to operate independently
  • Strong understanding of complex legislation and regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent engagement and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to interpret and report on complex data
  • Experience managing change within an organisation

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of fisheries or related DEFRA sectors
  • Experience working within Newcastle, York, Bristol, or Preston hubs

Qualifications & Experience

  • Five GCSE passes at Grade C or above
  • Two A levels at Grade E or above, or equivalent
  • NVQ Management Level 3 or 4, or relevant management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Management experience in an office environment
