About the Team
We are looking to recruit up to 4 higher level apprentices to start and develop their career within B&NES. B&NES provides a supportive platform for you to develop as an individual in a diverse and exciting Local Authority environment. You will be part of a cohort involving support and assessment from an external training provider connected to a local college.
About The Role
The role will provide the support needed to ensure that 'we' as a function can deliver the many priorities in Capital Programmes and project delivery. We currently have 7 ambitious programmes (with more to come!) which include housing, transport and highways, decarbonisation, parks and green spaces, regeneration. Everything we do is focussed on delivering better outcomes for our residents. You have a real opportunity to be a part of that.
About You
You will be required to:
- Observe, shadow and support colleagues delivering technical activities, to learn and build understanding and experience.
- Undertake a range of technical activities within the specific field to support team operations. This may include conducting specified tests, gathering information, preparing technical documents, preparing equipment, and supporting the preparation of content for reports.
- Process a range of information and data in accordance with defined processes and procedures, carrying out validations and data cleansing to provide high quality datasets for use.
- Handle a range of enquiries from customers and/or colleagues, providing information and advice so that enquiries are handled effectively and appropriately. Complex queries will be escalated.
- Be the first port of call for advice and support on use of various systems including finance, contract management and procurement.

We are likely to hold a two-stage interview process. The first stage will be via a call so you can ask us questions, and we can find out more about yourself. We will then select suitable candidates to be invited to a face-to-face interview which will be held at our offices in Keynsham.
