As an award-winning college, we are always looking for exceptional staff to join our team. We place great value on our support staff, who play a vital role in raising achievement and supporting the development and success of our students.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Higher Level Learning Support Assistant to support teaching and learning across the College, with a particular focus on students with Educational, Health and Care Plans.

You will work proactively within the classroom to support learning, deliver targeted interventions and, where appropriate, plan and lead English or Maths learning activities for individuals and small groups. Under the direction of the class tutor, you will be required to contribute to the assessment and monitoring of student progress.

A significant aspect of the role involves supporting students with a range of additional needs, including emotional and behavioural challenges, enabling them to access the curriculum alongside their peers and progress confidently towards adulthood.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality learning support for SEND students in classroom and workshop environments
  • Plan, deliver and assess learning activities for individuals and small groups
  • Provide targeted intervention strategies to support emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement
  • Support the implementation and review of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Promote independence, resilience and self-esteem in students while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Monitor student progress and contribute to assessments, reports and reviews
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support services to ensure inclusive teaching practice
  • Use your initiative while working effectively under the direction of teaching staff

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting
  • A strong understanding of SEND, EHCPs and a range of learning needs
  • Proven experience of delivering or supporting learning interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to motivate, engage and support students to become independent learners

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
