Overton School, Ludlow, SY8 4AD

Hours

40 hours per week | Monday–Friday | 8.30am - 4.30pm

Salary

£25,000 per annum (not pro rata)

Contract

Permanent | Term Time Only

About the Role

We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference every day by helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and achieve meaningful outcomes in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Working closely with teachers and our wider multidisciplinary team, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality education, supporting personalised learning programmes and helping every pupil thrive both academically and personally.

What you will be doing

  • Supporting teachers by planning, preparing and delivering engaging lessons and learning activities, including covering lessons when required.
  • Delivering targeted interventions and adapting learning to meet the individual needs of pupils.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing detailed feedback to teachers to support future learning.
  • Promoting positive behaviour, independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing through consistent support and encouragement.
  • Supporting the development of individual education plans, behaviour support strategies and other pupil documentation.
  • Mentoring and supporting Teaching Assistants while working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and the wider school team.

What you will bring

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification/Equivalent Teaching Qualification and experience of being a HLTA within SEND.
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 4 or above) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with autism and/or additional learning needs, including supporting challenging behaviour.
  • Experience planning and delivering learning activities or lessons.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and IT skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • The ability to adapt learning to individual pupils whilst promoting independence, confidence and achievement.
  • Driving licence required
