Salary: £24,796 - £28,142 pro rata (£4,998 - £10,536 per annum)
Hours: Part time, 25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Contract: Fixed term until August 2027, required from September 2026

HLTA: £28,142 - £33,699 pro rata (£10,536.16 - £12,616 per annum), 16.25 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday, 8.30 am to 3.30 pm
TA: £24,796 - £25,185 pro rata (£4,998 – £5,077 per annum), 8.75 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday, 8.30 am to 3.30 pm
Freeman Community Primary School are seeking a motivated and caring Higher Level Teaching Assistant/Teaching Assistant (HTLA/TA) to play a key role in helping children achieve their full potential. You will be committed to inclusion and will have an attentive and patient manner.
You will be a classroom-based Teaching Assistant from 8.30 am to 12 pm and will then take on the role of Higher Level Teaching Assistant from 12.45 pm to 3.30 pm. However, additional HLTA cover may be required on a day-to-day basis and will be paid at the higher rate.
Duties will include:
- Teaching whole classes across the school, with specified work directed by the class teacher
- Planning, preparing, delivering and marking specified learning activities to classes
- Modifying and adapting activities, where appropriate.

We are looking for someone who:
- Possesses good literacy and numeracy skills (at least GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent)
- Has the HLTA qualification or is in the process of completing the qualification
- Has high expectations of children's behaviour and achievements
- Is flexible in their approach to the children's and school's needs
- Understands and supports the principles of inclusion for all pupils
- Demonstrates initiative and the ability to communicate well with teaching staff, pupils and parents.
