Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Gulliver's Activity Centre

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Educational Support Role

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our education team at Gulliver’s Activity Centre.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to support children and young people in alternative education provision, working collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Helping pupils engage in learning, achieve positive outcomes, and develop confidence
  • Supporting high-quality educational activities, both inside and outside the classroom
  • Assisting with individual and small group tuition
  • Contributing to classroom management, planning, and assessment
  • Supporting pupils with varying educational, emotional, and behavioural needs

The ideal candidate will:

  • Champion a child-centred approach
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils
  • Promote inclusion and achievement for all learners
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability when working across multiple sites (Rotherham and Doncaster)

Hours & Location

  • Full-time position (39.5 hours/week)
  • Contract start date: 11/12/2023
  • Working hours:
    • Monday: 08:30 AM – 5:00 PM
    • Tuesday – Friday: 08:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Base location: Gulliver’s Activity Centre, Mansfield Road, Sheffield (S26 5QW)
  • Some travel required for travel across Rotherham and Doncaster sites.
