- Location: Primary schools across BANES
- Pay Rate: £110–£130 per day
- Start Date: September 2026
- Partners: Connex Education (working alongside Bath & Wells Multi-Academy Trust)
About the Role
Connex Education seeks skilled and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) with experience in supporting EYFS, KS1, and KS2 across high-quality primary schools within the Bath & North East Somerset (BANES) area.
The successful candidate will work within a well-regarded Multi-Academy Trust renowned for its inclusive practice, strong community ties, and commitment to excellence. This role offers ownership in delivering targeted interventions, taking over lessons when required, and reinforcing classroom support with tried-and-tested pedagogy.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Working effectively across early years, key stage 1, and key stage 2
- Providing targeted 1:1 and small-group teaching interventions
- Enhancing whole-class delivery while ensuring personalised learning
- Assisting in implementing EHCP plans and differentiated curricula
- Maintaining a positive, structured, and inclusive environment
- Adapting successfully to diverse school settings and age groups
Responsibilities

- Reinforce clear planning and delivery while supporting teachers
- Execute planned lessons when requested

Targeted Interventions & Support
- Lead small-group teaching focused on literacy, numeracy, and emotional development
- Conduct 1:1 support sessions aligned with intervention strategies
- Tailor learning plans for pupils with additional needs

Classroom Management & Collaborative Work
- Maintain behavioural consistency and ensure a supportive atmosphere
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and broader support staff
- Assist in tracking progress, safeguarding protocols, and inclusivity

Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
-HLTA qualification or equivalent experience and responsibilities
-
Demonstrated knowledge of the UK primary curriculum (NFLS/NCFE) and required gendered suggest primary-focused EYFS, KS1 and KS2

Engaging classroom experience comprising: observation-teaching practice, lesson delivery, and intervention facilitation

Age-appropriate behaviour management skills
-
Safeguarding-level additional duties training (including safeguard training)
Desirable Skills
-
Completed or progressing towards a Level 2 SEND qualification (advance knowledge of teaching pupils with special educational needs)

Established working relationship with ASD, ADHD, SENH support teams

Proven adaptability to dynamic school environments

Proactive collaborative attitude to learning development

Holds or willing to obtain DBS certificate ( lzeul’enfantr for Assessments)
