📍 Location: Beeches Road, West Row, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP28 8NY

💰 Salary: £26,402 – £28,141 pro rata (£22,076 – £23,530 per annum)

⏰ Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

📅 Contract: Permanent (required from September 2026)

About the Role

West Row Academy is seeking a compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a strong, supportive team.

The successful candidate will work across the school, including within our specialist provision hub, supporting pupils with high levels of need, particularly in communication.

This role involves contributing to a nurturing, well-structured environment that prioritises teamwork to ensure every child thrives both academically and socially.

We strongly emphasise working collaboratively with families and the wider community to achieve the best outcomes for our pupils. At West Row, children are at the heart of everything we do, and we foster a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued.

  • Provide specialised support to pupils with high levels of need, particularly in communication
  • Assist classroom teachers in planning, teaching, and assessing pupils

  • Work within the specialist provision hub to address pupils' specific needs

Requirements

  • A minimum of Level 3 Diploma for the Teaching Assistant
  • Evidence of experience working with pupils with special educational needs (SEN) or in mainstream education
  • Ability to work in a nurturing, inclusive, and team-focused environment
  • Proficiency in communicating effectively with pupils, families, and school staff
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
