Grade 5, SCP - Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Permanent, 35 Hours Per Week, Term Time Only)
Actual Salary: £25,578.80 - £27,786.10
Contract: Permanent | Hours: 35 per week (Term Time Only)
Start Date: 17 September 2026 (or 1 September 2026 if possible)
About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional, enthusiastic, and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join the team at Goldsmith Primary Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner looking to further develop their career within a highly inclusive, ambitious, and innovative school environment.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the school. You will:
- Work alongside teachers and leaders to deliver planned learning
- Provide targeted interventions in response to pupil needs
- Take responsibility for classroom cover where required
- Contribute to securing exceptional outcomes for all pupils
Key Responsibilities
You will be expected to:
- Develop and deliver high-quality, structured learning across different age groups
- Collaborate with teachers to plan, deliver, and evaluate learning experiences
- Maintain high expectations for all pupils’ academic, social, and emotional progress
- Promote inclusive practice, meeting the needs of every child
- Utilise digital technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning
- Act professionally, proving initiative, resilience, and accountability
- Contribute positively to the wider school community
- Represent and advance the forward-thinking culture of Goldsmith Primary Academy

Person Specification
Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
- Exceptional teaching experience, with a proven track record of supporting pupil progress
- Deep passion for children’s education, including their academic, social, and emotional development
- Experience delivering high-quality learning across multiple year groups
- Ability to plan, deliver, and adapt lessons confidently in collaboration with teaching staff
- Strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and anti-discriminatory practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills -Professional, resilient, and proactive attitude
- Sounds knowledge of Apple Distinguished School principles if applicable
- Commitment to continuous professional development
