Are you a Life Changer?

Would you like to lean in and transform the life of a child?

Compass Community puts children first through its therapeutic, innovative approach. Integrity, Courage, and Care are at the core of its ethos. The team listens deeply, challenges itself, and ensures each child receives the support they need for exceptional outcomes.

This is the work. And we’d love to have you onboard.

Who We Are

Our children come from diverse backgrounds, all sharing Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and many also have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). These can include:

  • Autism
  • ADHD
  • Communication difficulties
  • Significant trauma and adverse childhood experiences
  • Current or past social care involvement

Our approach is trauma and attachment-informed, and all staff receive extensive therapeutic training and ongoing support. Our collaborative model ensures educators, parents/carers, local authorities, and children themselves all contribute to decision-making for outstanding outcomes.

The Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

At this school, no two days—or children—are ever the same. It’s an environment where you must be adaptable, resilient, and solution-focused to meet the complex needs of our most vulnerable learners.

HLTAs thrive in this environment by:

  • Supporting teachers creatively and flexibly in the classroom
  • Working one-on-one or with small groups in personalised sessions
  • Managing classroom resources and logistics (including trips and daily routines)
  • Establishing comfortable one-on-one connections during shared lunches
  • overseeing heightened behaviours and maintaining safety
  • Engaging in fun learning activities, like board games and science experiments
  • Making engaging displays and celebrating child-led successes
  • Participating in therapeutic interventions or reflecting on challenging moments

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
