Higher Level Teaching Assistant : Launch Your Teaching Career : September 2026 : Haringey
Are you an ambitious Higher Level Teaching Assistant ready for a role that offers genuine teaching experience and excellent career progression?
A successful 3:form entry Primary School in Haringey is looking to appoint an outstanding Higher Level Teaching Assistant from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or ECT looking to strengthen their classroom experience before securing a permanent teaching role.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Lead Maths intervention groups
- Deliver targeted support to small groups of pupils
- Occasionally take responsibility for a Year 5 class for short periods during the school day when the class teacher is absent
- Lesson planning will already be completed, allowing the Higher Level Teaching Assistant to concentrate on delivering engaging lessons and maintaining excellent classroom routines

Higher Level Teaching Assistant: Responsibilities
- Deliver Maths interventions as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
- Lead targeted small group learning as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
- Occasionally teach a Year 5 class using pre-planned lessons as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
- Work alongside experienced teachers to improve pupil outcomes
- Support assessment and pupil progress as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
- Build confidence in leading learning across KS2
