Salary:
- FTE: £28,598–£31,022 per annum
- Part-time (12 hours/week): £7,949–£8,775 pro rata per annum
- Points: 12:17 of the Support Staff Scale, Covering Point A.

The Role
We are seeking a hard-working and enthusiastic candidate with high standards, confident verbal and written communication, and the ability to interact effectively with pupils, parents, and staff.
As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will:
General Responsibilities
- Work under the guidance of teachers or senior staff, teaching lessons to pupils while simultaneously planning, delivering, and evaluating learning.
- Provide learning support through teaching responsibilities, assessment, and pastoral care.
Specific Responsibilities
- Teach classes under the specific guidance of the class teacher.
- Provide pupil feedback on progress and achievement, aligning with teacher directives.
- Assist in learning planning, ensuring lessons meet curriculum objectives.
- Maintain a supportive, orderly learning environment, aligned with lesson plans, and manage the display of pupils’ work.
- Work closely with teachers to design and deliver support strategies, helping pupils achieve learning goals.
- Monitor and record pupils’ progress and achievement, providing detailed feedback to teachers on challenges and successes.
- Promote positive behaviour—handling conflicts and following established policies while encouraging self-responsibility.
- Organise and maintain resources, ensuring pupils have access to necessary materials, including ICT support.
- Uphold policies on child protection, health, safety, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting concerns to the appropriate senior member of staff.
- Ensure inclusivity, supporting difference and accessibility so all pupils have equal opportunities for learning and development.
