Senior Teaching Assistant (HLTA) & Year 6 Teaching Assistant

Pensans is a vibrant, inclusive primary school where curiosity, kindness, and adventure are at the heart of learning. Our staff are committed to nurturing confident, resilient learners ready for the next stage in their academic and personal journeys.

We’re looking to appoint a committed High-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) who will step into a proactive teaching role, lead small group interventions, and help drive learning across the school.

Additionally, we need a Year 5/6 Teaching Assistant to provide steady support to pupils in their final year of primary school, helping them master key skills, prepare for SATs, and confidently transition to secondary education.

Key Responsibilities

As an HLTA:

  • Deliver planned whole-class lessons in the teacher’s absence, ensuring seamless continuity in learning.
  • Lead targeted literacy and numeracy interventions, using assessment data to tailor instruction and input into assessment tools.
  • Create, update, and evaluate individual learning plans in collaboration with teachers.
  • Model excellent classroom practice, assist supporting staff, and encourage the effective use of ICT to enhance learning.
  • Contribute actively to school life—e.g., school council, enrichment clubs, and extracurricular activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
