Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Stafford
Start Date: September 2026
We are currently recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Level 4) to join one of our partner schools within Stafford. This will be on a day-to-day supply basis with potential of being extended on a more short-term/long-term role. Your duty as a HLTA is to work alongside the class teacher by taking responsibility for teaching in some circumstances under agreed supervision. Sometimes, this may include planning, preparing and delivering learning activities to whole classes/groups; you will be expected to monitor, assess and report back on students' progress and development.
You will be joining a very welcoming, supportive school on a full-time/part-time basis (role dependant). You will be joining the school on a temporary basis, working through a trusted, established supply agency. You may be required to support a mixture of year groups, supporting across all Key Stages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for teaching when necessary, under an agreed system of supervision.
- Assist in maintaining a positive learning environment, by implementing behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
- Provide support to pupils, helping them during whole class learning and group work.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, evaluation and implementation working alongside the class teacher.
- Organise and manage appropriate learning environments and resources to ensure learning is being amplified.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children at all times.

What we're looking for:
- Qualified Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification (necessary)
- Has strong levels experience of working within and supporting a school as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant; planning, delivering and assessing lessons when necessary.
- A kind, caring and supportive nature in which you feel passionate to be supporting pupils on a daily basis, both socially and academically.
- Would be available to support a long-term role within the same school (if needed), on a temporary basis working through an agency.
- Holds an enhanced DBS on the update service (or is willing to obtain one)
- Can provide two recent professional references
- Is able to commute to a school in Stafford.
- Is fully registered (or willing to register) with Academics

Pay: £100 - £110 per day, depending on experience. Holiday pay is included in the daily rate.
