Higher Level Teaching Assistants - Park House

Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) at Park House School

We are looking for Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) to join our dedicated team at Park House School in Taunton, Somerset. You will be working alongside experienced education professionals in a therapeutic, child-centred environment where every young person is respected, listened to, and supported to achieve their full potential. As an HLTA, no two days are the same. You will support teaching and learning both in the classroom and through wider enrichment activities, helping children and young people overcome barriers to education, build confidence, and develop a love of learning.

About Park House School

Park House School is a small, therapeutic-based learning environment providing specialist education for young people aged 8 to 19 with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school offers an alternative educational setting for young people for whom mainstream education has not worked and is built around Thrive principles, helping pupils re-engage with education and succeed. Hours

Term Time Only – in line with the local authority calendar.

Full-time Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm (37.5 hours per week)

The role is typically full-time across five days, however, we would be happy to discuss part-time or compressed-hours opportunities.

Requirements

  • Good written and IT skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, colleagues and external professionals
  • Strong listening skills
  • Valid Driving Licence
  • Right to Work in the UK
