Job Opportunity: Maternity Leave Post
This is an exciting opportunity to join our brilliant team covering a maternity leave post.
Role Overview
The post holder will be joining the Specialist Medicine team at Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust, providing a highly specialist service to patients.
Responsibilities
- Joining the Specialist Medicine team
- Providing a highly specialist service across a wide range of specialties, including Acute Medicine, Respiratory, Cancer Services, Surgical specialties, and 'front door' services
- Working alongside a large and supportive team of therapists, including 2 Clinical Specialist SLTs, supported by assistant SLTs
- Utilizing FEES and videofluoroscopy services
- Participating in training to develop competencies in instrumental dysphagia assessment
Location
The team provides a service across both NUH's campuses: City and QMC. The team has very close links with the MDT and there are opportunities for service development and to enhance your leadership skills.

Requirements
The post holder will work alongside other Band 7 SLTs in the team and the Clinical Specialist SLT with designated responsibilities for team leadership and clinical care.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing a highly specialist SLT assessment, management, and treatment programme to people with communication and swallowing difficulties
- Providing highly specialist clinical expertise, with experience working with a wide range of aetiologies and specialisms
- Providing day-to-day management of the service and offering high-quality clinical supervision
- Leading on strategic developments within their specialism, in liaison with their colleagues and service leads
Job Details
- This is a full-time post and is a fixed-term post of 9 months. We will consider part-time.
- This post gives the opportunity to develop leadership skills in a supported environment.
