Job Opportunity: Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapists

The Community Speech & Language Therapy Service at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an innovative Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapists to join the team for a 12-month fixed term period (secondment will be considered) due to the maternity leave of the current post holder.

About the Role

The post is to work into the Sefton locality with joint working across with Liverpool colleagues to support the implementation of our clinically evidence-based care pathways for children and young people presenting with speech sound disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work predominantly clinically with their own caseload
  • Support speech and language therapists and SLT assistants to provide good quality care to work towards achieving the outcomes set collaboratively with the CYP, their parents/carers, and families
  • Service coordination, clinical supervision, and leadership

Requirements

  • Based in the community, an expectation that the successful candidate will be a car driver and have access to a vehicle to enable them to travel to, and between various locations throughout the week

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with colleagues to further implement and monitor the quality of care pathways for children and young people in their highly specialist clinical area
  • Lead a small team of speech and language therapists to provide clinical supervision ensuring they provide a high-quality speech and language therapy service to children in a variety of community settings including clinics, schools, and nurseries
  • Assess and provide a range of therapeutic interventions using their highly specialist knowledge to children in the aforementioned clinical area
  • Work collaboratively with other partner agencies and carers to enable them to understand the communication needs and to provide appropriate advice, support, and intervention
