Join us as a Support Officer to play a key behind-the-scenes role in the regeneration of Salford.

Our in-house and contracted teams are out in the community delivering a programme of improvements and repairs. But that programme can only happen through the support of our depot office.

Your combination of admin abilities and technical understanding can help us to shape a city with safer, greener, more efficient transport that links in seamlessly with the wider region.

Your role

  • Work within the Highway Construction team to carry out office management and support tasks that ensure our services are delivered effectively in Salford.
  • Support the Head of Service in all operational and office management duties, such as document development, record management and correspondence management.
  • Be the first point of contact for the team for internal and external customers, taking messages and passing them on to the correct staff member. Ensure queries from members of the public and councillors are passed on in a timely manner or dealt with if appropriate.
  • Update and maintain the highways management systems for the works issued and completed by the operational teams.
  • Maintain safety, induction, training and Health and Safety records.

Your profile

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a high workload.
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office.
  • Able to communicate with all levels of the hierarchy and external customers.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • An understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and build good working relationships.
