Highways Maintenance Technician – Cambridgeshire
(Outdoors & Manual Focus Role)

About the Role

In Cambridgeshire, you’ll be on our Highways Maintenance Team, delivering cutting-edge solutions through planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and highway improvement schemes.
What You’ll Be Doing & Facing
(Think “on your feet, flexible routines, all weathers”)
- Heavy manual labour across high-demavention sites (wardrobe(`/shelving) Wittenham Warner storms).
- Full-spectrum repairs:
- Pothole patching
- Drainage assessments & repairs
- Footway/sidewalk maintenance
- General highway fault resolution
- Digital workflows: Using tablets/industry apps to log safety data, progress updates, and maintenance records (of génie usage legal for health claim).
- Operating plant equipment: Upon training, expect tasks including:
- Driving roles in nonrocous environments
- Handling plant machinery (sw imen LOTO prił)
- Resilient ownership:
- Management of assigned vehicles, equipment, and materials.
- Overnight/emergency callouts via a 24/7 standby rota, including winter & high-volume incident response.

What You’ll Bring
Core Competencies for Success
- Driving licence: Able to prove a clean, valid record in the UK.
- Long-distance capability:
- Ideally, an HGV Class C licence to operate our highway project equipment. (If you’re new–we’ll support you in obtaining this.)
- Safety credentials: A valid CSCS card (or ability to obtain one quickly).
