Your Impact

As a Senior Highways Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering technical excellence, innovation, and safety across a wide range of transportation projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking ownership of key design deliverables
  • Identifying opportunities for automation and process efficiencies
  • Ensuring scope changes are escalated appropriately to maintain programme and budget integrity
  • Collaborating closely with discipline leads and project stakeholders to produce high-quality outcomes
  • Mentoring and supporting less experienced team members to build capability and foster continuous improvement

What You’ll Need

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Design experience in transportation and the built environment
  • A relevant professional qualification, such as:
    • A degree in engineering
    • CEng/IEng or equivalent qualifications or work experience
  • Technical experience in delivering:
    • Local and/or major highways projects
    • Land-side alignment elements in adjacent markets such as water, aviation, or rail
  • A thorough understanding of commonly used design standards, including:
    • Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB)
    • Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW)
    • International equivalents
  • Sound knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and a passion for fostering safety and wellbeing
  • Independence to deliver high-impact results within a global multi-disciplinary team
