Your Impact
As a Senior Highways Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering technical excellence, innovation, and safety across a wide range of transportation projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of key design deliverables
- Identifying opportunities for automation and process efficiencies
- Ensuring scope changes are escalated appropriately to maintain programme and budget integrity
- Collaborating closely with discipline leads and project stakeholders to produce high-quality outcomes
- Mentoring and supporting less experienced team members to build capability and foster continuous improvement

What You’ll Need
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Design experience in transportation and the built environment
- A relevant professional qualification, such as:
- A degree in engineering
- CEng/IEng or equivalent qualifications or work experience
- Technical experience in delivering:
- Local and/or major highways projects
- Land-side alignment elements in adjacent markets such as water, aviation, or rail
- A thorough understanding of commonly used design standards, including:
- Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB)
- Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW)
- International equivalents
- Sound knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and a passion for fostering safety and wellbeing
- Independence to deliver high-impact results within a global multi-disciplinary team
