Highways Supervisor (Technology)
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Highways Supervisor (Technology) in Hale Depot (WA15 8XL) to join our vibrant, inclusive community that celebrates our differences and makes a real impact across the UK.
In this role, you will supervise the delivery of technology maintenance activities, ensuring works are carried out safely, compliantly, and efficiently. You will support both planned and reactive operations, working closely with operational teams, planners, and stakeholders to maintain high standards across the network.
What will the role offer?

This role offers a varied and hands-on working environment, where you will coordinate works, support operational delivery, and provide technical guidance, while also contributing to emergency response and network performance.

- The standard hours of work are 42 hours per week on average.

What you will be doing
- Supervise the Technology Operational Team delivering maintenance activities
- Plan and coordinate works with the Planning Team
- Undertake site visits to ensure works are delivered safely and to required standards
- Complete HSEA inspections and provide technical support
- Manage reactive maintenance activities and ensure completion within required timescales
- Ensure cyclical activities are delivered in line with programme requirements
- Review works to identify renewal and replacement opportunities
- Ensure accurate recording of works in ServiceNow and Confirm
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Support emergency response and call-out rotas
- Ensure materials, permits, and traffic management are in place
- Manage supply chain partners where required
- Monitor workforce performance and compliance
- Support commercial processes including timesheets and cost input
- Maintain training records and support development of team members
- Act as technical support for faults and incidents
- Provide cover for the Technology Manager where required

What we are looking for
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Experience supervising teams in highways, technology, or infrastructure environments
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Experience using systems such as ServiceNow and Confirm
- Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements
- Ability to work flexibly, including nights, weekends, and emergency response
- Full UK Driving Licence
- HNC/BTEC in Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Level 3 NVQ in Highway Electrical Systems (desirable)
- Knowledge of National Highways standards (desirable)
