Job Introduction
We're looking for a confident and organised team player to join our busy team as a Hire Controller. This is a fast-paced, office-based role where you’ll play a key part in delivering great service to our construction industry customers. You’ll be responsible for processing hire requests, coordinating with our depots and transport team, and ensuring equipment is delivered on time and to specification.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys working with people, and takes pride in getting the details right.
Key Responsibilities
- Responding to incoming telephone calls and emails from customers, providing prompt and professional service.
- Processing on-hire and off-hire requests using our dedicated hire management system with a high level of accuracy.
- Preparing and issuing hire quotations based on customer requirements.
- Coordinating with operational depots and the transport team to arrange equipment deliveries, collections, and exchanges.
- Liaising with internal teams to ensure orders are fulfilled correctly and on time.
- Maintaining accurate records of customer activity, hire information, and system data.
- Assisting with checking product availability and supporting depot stock control processes.
- Helping to resolve any service issues or queries efficiently and escalating when required.
What We're Looking For
- A confident communicator with a professional telephone manner and strong customer service focus
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when entering information into systems
- Resilient and solution-focused, when working under pressure or responding to urgent requests
- Comfortable using MS Office (particularly Outlook and Excel) and learning new software systems
- Experience using G42 or other hire management systems is advantageous
- Understanding of the construction or hire industry is helpful but not essential
- A proactive team player with a flexible and positive attitude to work
