Hire Desk Controller

Caerphilly

Permanent

£30,000 - £35,000 per annum


Bridgestaff Group are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a growing and ambitious business based in Caerphilly for an experienced Hire Desk Controller.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven, organised, and commercially-minded individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong customer relationships. The successful candidate will join a close-knit team and play a key role in the continued development and success of the hire desk function.

We are looking for someone who can genuinely make the role their own, bringing new ideas, a proactive approach, and the confidence to contribute to the ongoing growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing customer enquiries via telephone and email
  • Preparing quotations, processing hire orders, and coordinating contracts
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Identifying sales opportunities and maximising hire revenue
  • Coordinating deliveries, collections, and exchanges with operational teams
  • Managing multiple priorities and ensuring excellent service levels
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems
  • Supporting fleet utilisation and resource planning
  • Working closely with internal departments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Assisting with business growth through excellent customer service and commercial awareness

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a Hire Desk Controller, Hire Coordinator, or similar role
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively
  • Commercially aware with a proactive approach to sales opportunities
  • Self-motivated, driven, and capable of working independently
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the growth of the business

The Opportunity

This role offers far more than a traditional hire desk position. The successful candidate will become an integral part of the business, helping to shape processes, support growth, and contribute to the continued development of the department.

You'll be joining a supportive team environment within a company that is continuing to expand, providing genuine opportunities for personal and professional development.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30am - 4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:30am - 3:30pm

Salary & Benefits

  • £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
