We have an exciting opportunity for a Hire Desk Resource Planner to begin their story with us based in our Head Office in Carlisle. We are looking for someone who embodies our values of being hardworking, grounded and proud of the work they do.

About the Role

As Hire Desk Resource Planner, you will play a key role in supporting our operational teams by managing the hire desk inbox, coordinating the hire of external plant and equipment and resolving a wide range of queries from internal customers and suppliers. You will act as a central point of contact, helping to find solutions quickly, manage expectations and ensure plant requirements are met efficiently.

You will liaise with a variety of suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring orders are raised and administered in line with company systems and processes. You will also investigate and resolve plant, delivery, collection and invoice queries, maintaining accurate records and providing a high standard of customer service across the business.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A strong customer-focused approach with the ability to resolve issues and deliver excellent service
  • To be organised, logical and able to work efficiently to strict deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with suppliers and internal customers
  • A proactive and solutions-focused mindset
  • Confidence in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Good knowledge of large and small plant is desirable but not essential
