Hiring: Senior Technology Architect / Technology Architect (Data Architect) | Contract
Location: London
Work Mode: Hybrid – 10 days WFO per month (may vary based on project requirements)
Job Type: Contract
We are looking for an experienced Senior Technology Architect / Technology Architect (Data Architect) to design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines and data products, enabling a modern Data Mesh architecture. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Databricks, Kafka, AWS, and legacy system integration.
Experience Required:
- 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture / Data Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines from Mainframe DB2 and on-premises SQL Server to an AWS-based Data Lake.
- Implement real-time data ingestion using Confluent Kafka into Amazon S3.
- Develop data transformation and analytics pipelines in Databricks using the Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
- Design and deliver scalable, reusable data products aligned with Data Mesh principles.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, security, and governance across all data pipelines.
- Collaborate with domain teams, platform teams, and business stakeholders to enable self-service analytics and data consumption.

Good to Have:
- Experience in Banking or Financial Services data platforms.
- Knowledge of Data Governance, Metadata Management, and Regulatory Reporting.
