Department: Stadium Experience & Fan Engagement

Location: STŌK Cae Ras Stadium, Wrexham

The Role

Wrexham AFC, one of the world’s oldest football clubs, offers an internship in sports heritage, research, and storytelling. The History & Heritage Intern will assist the Club Historian in preserving and sharing the club’s history.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist with organising and cataloguing historical club materials
  • Help record and document memorabilia, photographs, and historical records
  • Research key moments, players, matches, and seasons in club history
  • Assist with responding to historical enquiries
  • Help prepare historical content for matchday programmes or club platforms
  • Help collect stories and memories from supporters, former players, and staff
  • Support projects that capture the social and cultural history of the club

About You

You'll Have

  • A strong interest in history and heritage
  • Organisational skills, attention to detail, and good research and writing skills
  • An interest in football, sport, or community heritage

Candidate Profile

This internship would suit students studying History, Heritage Studies, Cultural Studies, or Public History.
