Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) : Part Time

Location: Eastleigh Area

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Long Term (September Start)

Hours: 8:30–3:30pm daily – flexible for the right candidate

About the Role

We are recruiting for a motivated and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a nurturing and inclusive primary school in the Eastleigh area. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HLTA or someone with equivalent experience looking to make a meaningful impact.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, SEND staff, and pupils to deliver high-quality learning support, interventions, and class cover.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide planned and ad-hoc class cover across year groups
  • Deliver booster sessions and targeted interventions to raise attainment
  • Support pupils with SEND and EHCP targets
  • Collaborate with teachers and the wider support team
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement
  • Follow guidance from external agencies to address individual needs
  • Build nurturing relationships to help pupils overcome barriers to learning
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience (or willingness to complete training)
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs
  • A flexible, proactive, and reflective approach
  • Ability to extend learning and promote inclusion
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Passion for helping every child thrive
