## About the Role
We are seeking a **dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant** to support pupils with **Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)**. This role covers **Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4**, focusing on tailored academic, social, and emotional development in a **structured and inclusive** setting.
You will:
- Support the teaching team by preparing and leading learning activities
- Implement specialist interventions to meet individual pupil needs
- Foster collaboration with teachers, **SENCOs**, therapists, and external professionals
- Champion a **safe, supportive, and inclusive** environment

## Key Responsibilities
- **Plan, prepare, and deliver** learning activities under classroom teacher supervision
- Lead **small group** sessions and whole-class activities where required
- Differentiate curriculum access for pupils with ASC in **engaging and meaningful** ways
- Implement **strategies for communication, emotional regulation, and behaviour**
- Contribute to monitoring **pupil progress**, assessments, and formal reports
- Work within a **therapeutic support** team to nurture social and emotional growth

About You (Essential Criteria)
- HLTA status or proven equivalent experience in this role
- At least 2 years’ recent experience working with children/young people with ASC
- Strong understanding of SEN strategies (differentiation, behaviour support)
- Confidence leading activities and supporting pupils from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4
- Key personal qualities: patience, calm adaptability, resilience, and empathy
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Commitment to celebrating individual pupil progress and bespoke support
Safeguarding & Legal Requirements
- Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship/career worker visas not supported)
- Ability to undergo an enhanced DBS check (funding assistance for first checks if needed)
- Minimum two professional references (lasting two years)
- Up-to-date safeguarding training as standard
“If you don’t currently hold a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we’ll process a new one at £62.70. This fee will be refunded after 20 days of employment.”
