The Role
As a HLTA, your core responsibilities include:
- Lead high-quality classroom learning across KS3-KS4, delivering planned lessons when required
- Provide targeted interventions through 1:1 support or small-group sessions to enhance student attainment
- Assist teachers with classroom planning, differentiated resources, and adaptable teaching materials
- Build strong positive relationships with students, developing trust and engagement
- Model exemplary behaviour, engagement, and instructional leadership in daily classroom practice
- Collaborate with the SENCO, Heads of Department, and specialist support teams
- Contribute actively to school values through participation in staff and student-led initiatives
Requirements
This role demands a confident, organised, proactive professional who comfortably adapts to fast-paced environments. Essential:
- Previous experience as an HLTA or in a similar advanced support role in secondary education
